Dr. Whitney Hunchak
Dr. Whitney Hunchak is a true Arizonian at heart. Raised in the Valley of the Sun, Whitney graduated high school at Saguaro High School, then continued her collegiate career, graduating Cum Laude from the University of Arizona. While completing her degree in Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Midwestern University in Glendale Arizona, she met her husband, Derek. Whitney completed her podiatric medicine and surgery residency training at the West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Hospital and Olive View UCLA County hospital in California, and was happy to return to her home state and join her husband at Westland Family Foot and Ankle Specialists. Whitney was specially trained in trauma related to the foot and ankle, as well as wound care, and a various array of reconstructive surgical procedures.
Dr. Derek Hunchak
Dr. Derek Hunchak completed his undergraduate schooling at Arizona State University and graduated with top honors receiving the prestigious Moeur Award in 2003. He then continued his education by receiving his degree in Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Midwestern University in Glendale Arizona in 2009. He completed his Podiatric Medicine and Surgery residency training in Orange County California at College Hospital of Costa Mesa as chief resident under Dr. Jeffrey Haupt. During Dr. Hunchak’s residency training, he specialized in cosmetic bunion repair of various techniques and other elective forefoot procedures.
Dr. Kristina Jay
Dr. Kristina Jay graduated from the Midwestern University’s School of Podiatric Medicine in 2010. She completed a bachelor of science in Biology at the University of Nebraska where she was a member of the honors program. She has been active in community service programs, professional societies and research projects at Midwestern University. Dr. Jay is also fluent in German and Croatian. What sets Dr. Kristina Jay apart is that she is bright, energetic and truly cares about the proper diagnosis and treatment for her patients and getting them healed and back to enjoying their life as pain free as possible.
